and now the Fed wants to get in on the communist election political strategies too....,. gee what a surprise THAT is.

One minute there’s complaints that gas is too expensive and that the administration is doing nothing about it, then when a solution to ease the discomfort is looked into by reducing fuel tax, it’s suddenly communist and evil and an election ploy.

make your minds up please.

Senate Democrats vote down gas tax holiday (wdbj7.com)
But Democrats in the Senate said the plan wouldn’t guarantee savings at the pump and would take away more than $300 million from critical highway improvements.
the REAL truth is that it's the same old communist group no matter federal or state and he's leading them ALL right?

So when a pedo offers to mow your lawn even though you already have kids that can do it...people know 'why'

Burden is talking about an .18 cent tax relief on gas. Pretty generous since his policies have driven it up over 4 bucks a gallon.
Exactly how have Biden’s policies driven up the price of petrol here in Spain...and France......and Britain......and Germany....and the rest of the world for that matter.

Fuck! For a bunch who claim to be capitalists, you lot either know fuck all about global markets or are so invested in partisan bickering that you don’t care how they work.

Sorry, but that is complete bollocks, as has been explained ad nauseum.

I understand in the absence of anything resembling policy, the Republican Party is waving gas prices around and blaming Biden, but FFS, I thought that the overall I.q. level here was high enough not to fall for it.

Obviously I was mistaken.

Oil price per barrel - and the accompanying high pump price and inflation - was spiking worldwide at the same time as it was on your side of the pond.

There was no spike on your side followed by over here, it was at the same time as the price per barrel was on a worldwide market, and refining which had reduced during the pandemic (with reduced demand causing the WORLDWIDE price per barrel to plummet....we had cheap gas then as well) moving into high gear to cover demand again.

Biden halted the keystone extension - it hadn’t moved a drop, and did not affect the world market.

Biden halted further fracking operations on federal land, but did not stop the current fracking operations or their licenses - this did not affect domestic oil output negatively.

Biden halted further exploration licenses on federal land, whilst the domestic oil industry held 9000 unused licenses and has used only half of the 12,000,000 acres of federal land they posses licenses for. - this has not affected domestic oil production.

Even the cries of “we were energy independent and are not now!” are total fucking bullshit. In the last full year of trump’s presidency you IMPORTED nearly 8million barrels of oil and oil based products PER DAY.

And more entertaining is when republicans say Biden has compromised the country’s ‘energy independence’ by relying on Russian imports.
During the trump administration, Russian oil was imported into your country at the rate of 137 million barrels in 2018, 189.8 million barrels in 2019, and 197.7 million barrels in 2020.....y’know, when you were supposedly ‘energy independent’....

As a point of interest, Russian oil imports went up after the trump administration stomped on Venezuelan oil imports.

It is not in the interest of oil companies to increase production and lower the price per barrel. They are making a mint, and the shareholders are positively tumescent. Regardless of the price, if you need oil based products, you’re going to have to buy them regardless of the price, and you will......that’s how capitalism works.

Honestly mate, I thought you were smarter than that....

the whole myth of this isn't my fault is pathetic. Bidens intent was to raise prices on gas to convert people to electric cars.

He said it was. He said he would do it. He did it. And now it's not his fault? Please.

Yes the world needs to convert to electric cars. That part he got right. But this is a HUGE undertaking and one that you dont do while the world is in a government mandated lock down. No, if you want to make a transition like this you do it when the economy is strong. The only people who would do something like this are currency traders who are making a killing on the dollar/euro/yen/etc. fluctuations.

The fact that people are surprised about the result is hysterical. Bidens "plan" of credit via a tax holiday or a gas card are also doomed to fail. Price adjustment from the government, in any form, doesn't increase supply or reduce demand. They do the exact opposite. They always have, they always will. It's a bit of a shell game so it does trick a lot of people. While it may seem a noble gesture to people who don't grasp basic economics, it will inevitably cause prices to keep climbing. The 18¢ of our money he's not taking will quickly be outpaced by market demand moving up a couple more dollars. The only thing that reduces prices is having supply out pace demand. Period, full stop, close the book.

Since when did your president set the price of petrol or the price per barrel on the world market?

U.S. Shale Slams Biden’s Oil Policies | OilPrice.com

U.S. shale producers have been disappointed with the Biden Administration’s policies regarding the oil and gas industry for nearly a year now, and they voiced their disappointment, once again, at this week’s World Petroleum Congress in Houston. While the U.S. Administration was calling repeatedly on OPEC+ to pump more oil to stop the rally in U.S. gasoline prices, which hit a seven-year high a few months ago, it failed to reach out to domestic producers first for more supply, shale executives and industry associations say.
The U.S. shale has not been happy with the Administration’s continued engagement with OPEC+ on oil supply, while there is such—and it is abundant—in America.
When the Biden Administration intensified calls on OPEC+ to boost production to alleviate surging gasoline prices in the U.S., the American Exploration and Production Council said at the end of October, “The worst thing an Administration can do to energy prices is restrict supply by implementing policies that make it harder to produce energy.”

My state increasing fuel tax by 5 cents per gallon next month. Seems everyone has their hand in the cookie jar.

Current u.s oil production is on par with the first 2 years of the trump administration, and is set (according to projections) to exceed trump’s highest production year at the end of this year.

If it does exceed trump’s highest production and the price is still high, how are you going to explain it away?
what was US demand during those same periods?

Biden is not solely responsible for the price of a barrel of oil but he has publicly stated, and acted on, reducing supply. Supply and demand are pretty basic concepts and you can throw all the numbers out there you want...but you can't dispute Bidens own words and actions.

been stated many times...

every single part of the supply chain of oil has increased costs....not the least of which has been labor.

its almost like prices increase on all goods and services to make up for increased costs to produce/delivery/sell said goods and services....combine that with dipshit level policies and statements from the administration regarding energy....and this is the result.

just like everyone with a lick of common sense said would happen from the start.

There’s no oil shortage, as I mentioned before, 2021 was on par with the (pre covid) first two years of the trump administration, and production for this year is on track to beat trump’s highest year.

Considering these facts, how has Biden reduced oil output?

Because if he had, the figures would back it up......but they don’t.

When you have a business. And your neighbor has a business of the same type. You have to keep your price is low. Because otherwise they will undersell you and put you out of business. But if all of a sudden you go out of business. That neighbor can bump his prices up to whatever he wants. Because he has no competition and no reason to keep the prices low. That’s what happened on the international market as well as locally. It’s not that fucking hard

Wow, you were able to succinctly capture the myriad nuances of the oil commodities market in a single paragraph.

And that final flourish, that last line "it's not that fucking hard".....is just *chef's kiss* amazing. 102405

Last year oil production in your country was approximately the same as in the first 2 years of the trump administration.

This year is on track for production to beat the best year of the trump administration.

So where does “going out of business” come into it?

He also said the XL pipeline, which was years away from moving a drop of oil......was affecting the price of oil.

How something that doesn't exist would affect the price of oil today was a mystery he never did explain further.

It’s difficult to accept anything but ‘blame biden’ when they have so much invested in it, even when reality shows different.

Cognitive dissonance at its best.

it must really suck always having to tout the party line.....not being able to disassociate with the politics that ruin the world. You can never lose your place in line right and that red card has to be out there in front for the collective regardless of what or who's leading the masses. Communist is as communist does.

I've said it before but here it is again:

Communism is Great!..

...as long as it's not run by the State.

People of such a mind should gather together and build their own communist communities, pool their monies and create their personal ideal utopias...
...or try to and see where it leads them.

Hint: It's the same place all such communities lead to, fracture and collapse.

Human nature fucks it up, every time.

We do practice a bit of communist behavior here already, in the churches and groups we belong to...
...donating monies for this cause or that but, only voluntarily, which it how such behavior should always be done.

Unless of course you can kill all of those opposed to such thinking and force the rest, after a little re-education.
I would not be down with that though...
...too messy and it would be a never ending task.

Everything mandated for the well being of the group will always run over the largest minority group in existence; the individual.

I'm for allowing everyone their own choice in path of destiny.
No one should force anyone to violate their own conscience...
...unless their goal is to cause physical harm to others, then they would need to be dealt with, for the protection of individuals at large.

It'll all be a moot point though...

...once the asteroid gets here.
