I know, I could write a book about the lazy, ignorant, morons who post on Craig's List, but this one really got on my last nerve for the afternoon...

http://lafayette.craigslist.org/for/4565049124.html

Seriously? Worthless picture, no size, no color, no condition, no brand... really nothing. What a waste of the posters time and any unfortunate potential buyers time.

On a related note, all these "motors" that "run good". Yikes! I sometimes respond and ask "does the engine run well?" Sometimes I'll ask if the "engine runs evil". I haven't gotten a response back yet.

Oh, and the people who put a bunch of unrelated keywords at the bottom of their posting... "ford mustang camaro miata honda" on a listing for a Corvette. Do they seriously think that someone searching for one of the keywords really gives a shit about your Corvette for sale? Extremely unlikely, otherwise they would have searched for Corvette, not Honda.

Are people really this stupid?

i know the feeling. or a shitty cell phone pic of the front of a car, and nothing else. i mean REALLY shitty pic. like, its been ran through AOL 30 times first. Or, there's ten pics of the car, and 8 of them are the rear seat.

For a while a guy kept trying to sell his AT&T digital answering machine for $5. for maybe a year. i always thought it was a drug deal signal. Because when i tried to buy it, i would never get a reply. i even offered to give him $5 to just throw it in the trash and stop spamming craigslist with it.

Heres example of shitty pics, the two pics are so close to being the same, whats the point of the second one.

I stopped looking at it all together. Even ebay sucks to browse. 500 unrelated items or cheap china crap pops up.
I dont even think I have the resolve to do a non-local vehicle purchase anymore.

Aside from the asinine secondary picture (as you pointed out), the posting isn't bad. It has all the relevant information on the car... year, make, model, mileage, engine, transmission, heck even a decent description.

How about this truck? Just makes you want to "buy it now"! I don't care about mileage or transmission or what the interior looks like.

http://lafayette.craigslist.org/cto/4585256241.html

What about this sweet ride? What the hell is leaking from the engine? And what is the Lowe's bucket full of soapy water indicate?

http://lafayette.craigslist.org/cto/4605249421.html

Like I said... a book.

Then there's the miscatergorized postings, the multiple postings, and the same shitty, overpriced, items week after week. Get a cool dude. If it didn't sell for $20 in the last 3 months, try reducing the price.

I lol'd at your comments -- so true!

Months ago, wanted a daily driver, and also an f150/chevy 1500; CL sucked -- literally 100 new ads per day, half never replied, and the remaining either sold of flaked out. Bottomless pit of time and energy. . .

However, the motorcycles am riding today are all from CL over the past 18months: 90 dr650 for a grand, 01 gix 1k $2650, and very neglected duc 996 $3k.

Despite the pain of dealing with people (as both buyers and sellers), I have purchased and sold tons of things on Craig's List. Heck, I sold a $5000 EMC disk array on Craig's List. I bought my RC51 on Craig's List. Sold my Kubota tractor, but didn't buy either Bobcat, on Craig's List.

And to think when I sold my vehicle on Craigslist I not only took a ton of pictures I also did a Youtube video and posted it up showing the vehicle and that it started and I sold the car in a week.

I think Modette is a female. I always took the handle to mean someone who mod's their shit a lot... the ette is a common add-on for females such as Smurfette.

Maybe I'm wrong? Funny how handles, at first sight, evoke a mental picture that's hard to change. I still get hotwange mixed up.

Opps... I guess I was off there. You can be whatever you like, I guess, but I'd go with whatever genes made you.

By the way, that looks like a damn nice trail. I always go for the wavy white line.

Day 2 was worst. We spent close to 3 hours hauling the bikes 200 yards in mud, on a side hill to get out

Oh and I was not on the GasGas I was on the XR650R

It's those times I'd rather be on 4 wheels... Rhino style if possible.

Ah, so you're not even in the picture, which means, you could still be female and we'd never know it.

That one rustles my jimmies, big time.
It basically ruins the point of having advanced search features, and wastes your and countless other peoples time. I always flag those people.

Sounds good! I really don't care about who made it or what size it is...

http://lafayette.craigslist.org/snw/4681124632.html
Um people that post such silliness should be subject to "human test trails" of new drugs. Be funny to roll over and put a 1/2" hole in the fuel tank & engine case to make the small leak into a large one. I bet that one has legit paper work too!

also just let me state that 20yrs ago... ignorance could be forgiven since it took some "reading" to get just a taste of a particular subject or hobby. Now even Obama's Proverbial Sons have smart phones with internet capabilities & these dumbasses have no fucking clue.
Excuses that are no longer acceptable:
-I got lost
-I cant type
-I cant read
-I cant work

Who the HELL advertises trailer sizes from nose-to-tail?

http://lafayette.craigslist.org/grd/4681042135.html

Some people want to know the total length when looking for a trailer . Reasons might be a limited parking area . The biggest trailer I can park in my yard because of block wall design is 19 ft and the extra stall in the garage is also 19 ft. The HOA won't let me put it in the front yard , so I have to pay to park my 20 footer somewhere else just for the extra foot . Some public storage is by the foot and my insurance will not give an advance quote without knowing the trailer length . Tongue lead can vary a couple of feet on any given deck size.

Yes, I understand that, but you normally wouldn't list the overall length in the title of the posting. That's something you list down in the specs. The title is a quick summary of the item you're selling. Most people looking for a 19' trailer, wouldn't bother opening and reading a posting about a 14' trailer.

On the buckle of the Bible Belt.
Yeah, they were nice, but pricey.

I don't think they lasted more than 4 or 5 years. Honda had the high end market covered, and even they threw in the towel after 15 or 20 years.

Now Honda only makes push mowers.

Both are popular in the used market.
