My uncle, who I haven't seen or spoke too since 1966, own an Inn in Keystone S.D. Stop by and say hi. Course, he could be dead by now.

is overrated
Riding over for the day, we just battened down the hatches here, severe storms with 31m/sec (70 farmer MPH )wind gusts moving through. High plains weather!
Them fucking wind gusts up there have been known to blow freight trains right off the tracks.
70mph winds are just a mild breeze.

It would seem the Indians were correct to assign mystical powers to The Black Hills. That nest of nasty storms went mostly south, what brushed us so far isn't even a standard thunderstorm.

Went through the pigtails again to take a look at the stone dead white guys.

Went for a shopping stroll in downtown Custer. We got thirsty, went inside a coffeesshop. We drank the iced concoctions inside in the nice AC, the first time we had consumed indoors where we bought it since early March in Daytona.

Up and packing.off to boondock in Riverton, WY, on the way to Jackson on Tuesday.

We'll try to get a pic of the elusive billionaire, we heard they hang out there.

That would be a sweet photo opp for a knee down.
Just don't lose it in the apex.
Those guard rails look painfully sturdy.

Ms. tinhead chickened out completely today. Showers, sprinkles, and not much if at all above 5Ā°C. I made a trip to NAPA in Jackson to replace a blinker bulb and get rid of the 20 amp safety wire fix.

Can't be too careful around here.

A magpie greeted me at the resort gate.

Hold on now, pump those brakes and come to a complete stop!

5 C ? ! ? !

Since when did good ol' 41 degrees Fahrenheit become unfavorable?

I figured Crazy Horse would be done by now since the Govt. took over the project. Not much has changed since 1999

They'll have the George Floyd monument done way before Crazy Horse. Maybe even it weeks since he's one of the most beloved man in the country.

A move it day, away from crowded Jackson. We'll go up through the Tetons, enter Yellowstone, then exit out the west gate, our park is just outside the west gate.

4 nights there, well see if it warms up any.

All fixed. I don't carry an emergency tire repair (plug) kit.

I carry two. :neo::turboblew:
Fortunate that I found the leak straight out of the trailer, using the air compressor is lots easier than trying to inflate the tire with a couple CO2 cartridges.

The plugged tire has taken us over 500k the last couple days. We just beat the rain back to the rest of our wheels. New wildlife sightings were a coyote and a male moose. Otherwise it's just the same old elk, ravens, buffaloes, pronghorns, and the like amid the waterfalls, geysers, bubbling mud, and mountains. :yahoo:

The sights in Yellowstone are not socially distant.
Crowds everywhere, babies to centenarians. Less than 50% masked. Seeing Old Faithful is quite similar to attending an Arenacross, crowd wise.

We had a pizza in town
38579

The townies here in West Yellowstone say crowds are pretty light, for what that's worth.

The pizzeria and saloon were doing their best, seating was uncrowded and staff masked.

We're figuring tomorrow to be a less than 150K day, hit up a stroll or two through some of the thermal features between here and Old Faithful. Bubbling mud pots, fumaroles, hot springs are all things it might be a while before we see again.

I'm looking forward to comparing crowds between Yellowstone now and Road America next week. The 4 day commute there should be an easy time to catch up on self isolation, WalMarts and gas stations should be 90% of our outside contact. Elkhart Lake is a MotoAmerica weekend, so I'm not expecting super bowl level crowds.

Will the Dunlop truck be offering specials on a set of Roadsmart III's?

Right now the PilotRoad 4's on the Concours have about had their ass kicked. Still got about another 150km on the plugged rear dodging rain to see thermal planet forming stuff.
