"Toyota Denied a Warranty Repair on GR86 Engine Because It Found a Photo of the Car Drifting"

Toyota Denied a Warranty Repair on GR86 Engine Because It Found a Photo of the Car Drifting (msn.com)

Blake Alvarado published a detailed post on Facebook documenting the saga of his GR86, which suffered a spun bearing at just 13,770 miles. According to the post, the engine was starved of oil because of excess sealant that fell into the oil pan and eventually blocked the oil pickup tube. This, according to Alvarado, is a common, documented occurrence in these engines. Forum posts and breakdown videos seem to support this claim

A field technician specialist (FTS) was assigned to the case but rather than inspecting in person as is typically done, they did not inspect the motor. Instead either he or someone at the dealer looked me up on social media. They showed me a photo of me [drifting] taken at a local Test & Tune event (untimed, non-competition) in late March (I was testing different setups and playing around with tire pressures

Sneaky, Toyota, sneaky indeed...

Gal I know posted a video of her radar detector going off just as she hit 155 in a fairly stout Mustang. There was some rapid braking & enough swearing for 15 sailors. He was off the side of the road in a dip quite a ways ahead. Dawdled past the cop at 50mph.... still swearing.

The president of the Ferrari Owners Club of Japan got himself some jail time, years ago, for doing 300km/h on the highway, in and out of traffic. He had multiple cameras setup in his F40, one over his shoulder (showing the road and instrument cluster), another facing him (showing his face and the rear view), and another showing the footwell to pick up pedal operation. He had combined the multiple sources (I think they were Hi8, it was that long ago) and edited it into a nice short film, which he put on video CD and mailed out to the club members at Christmas with the next years Ferrari calendar. Somebody in the club put the video up somewhere publicly (Streetfire maybe?) and the government sent officers to his house to arrest him and used the video as evidence in a trial. I think he did a year or so in jail.

Had just set a record in The Cow Pasture run.
Was slowing down ( 40 mph ) and turning off the camera a couple of corners before I saw a CHP get out of his car and give me major stank eye. Certainly heard me coming at . No radar, no visual, no ticket.

Front wheel was about 4 inches in the air, so shut down early, 200 ft. before the tree marker.

They popped some dumbfuck doing top end runs in his Charger Hellcat. Videod himself, the starting point, the speedometer, and the ending point. Made 199, not sure how big the ticket was for that.

Then there was the infamous Ghost Rider on YouTube. Videod himself outrunning cops, and showed his address pulling into his garage. No license, no insurance, stolen bike. Think he got 4 years.

You guys do understand plausible deniability, right?

Lets just say that the math, and actual results agreed, in mexico... 'Theoretically'. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This isn't a bike designed just for LSR pursuits, but more along the lines of Rad Greaves formula extreme 'Busa. With lots of input from DaveO, and the aeronautics expert who used to post here and at Dennis' site. But making more power than Daves LSR 'Busa did.
