Kawachan doing a smokey burnout at Hallesville Raceway.
It has since shut down.
:2guns:

Another pick of Kawachan in Iraq.

LABusas salute at Red River Raceway between Shreveport, LA and Texarkana.

I see he used everyone's favorite number.

aw sum story  Like to meet chan and the gunner some day.

During Kawachan's first tour of Iraq in 2004, he had several close calls.

When an RPG blows under your HUMMER, it can flip on it's side and expose you to sniper fire.
(Not to mention the shrapnel whizzing into/through your body.)

Luckily, the battery took a lot of the hit.
Chan had shrapnel in his legs/ass, interpreter took it to his ankle.

Then they started taking sniper fire.

The gunner did his duty and fired back.
He was hit several times, but kept getting up and firing back.
He took 7 (SEVEN!!) rounds before he gave up and told Chan he was hit.
If I remember correctly, he took shots to the arm, chest, and head and suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
I don't know what kind of head trauma.

The gunner survived and made it back to the states.

A true hero!

I'm sure he's the reason Kawachan made it home that time.

And we were making Peanut Butter Tandy Kakes!

XX and Liz

Party-girl Ember, pissed she doesn't get any chocolate hand-outs.

25 minutes...

Plenty of time to drink more.

A little better after some back scratchin.

Adding the final layer.

And let chill.

More peanut butter please.

Just in case Lota got sick. Really sick. (he didn't).

The saddest stray dog ever:frown: We happened upon this poor old lad one night when we stopped for a pee at McDonalds in a real nasty part of L.A. / Santa Ana. flea bought him a couple burgers and got him some water. We got hold of a animal control person late on a Sunday night and tried to keep him happy until they picked him up. He needed medical attention badly. We checked a couple days later and he didn't make it. I hope he's having a time with all the 4 legged friends we've all lost over the years here.:(

A favorite picture I took in Gyumri, Armenia a couple years ago.

It was cold there.
