I don't know about 'best'

But I've said it before, just about every key economic metric is better today than it was 8 years ago.

Those that challenge that fact have yet to come up with anything to the contrary.

And that matters to me more than anything else regarding POTUS.

dude even his supporters dont grade him higher than a "C" average... in an A-F scale.

He added a whopping 7% of uninsurables to the insurance pools. Nobody ages 18-31 buys coverage, leaving the "funding" part of their plan with zero income. I could come up with a better solution on a wet paper towel.

I can't think of a more confusing video to post with that thread title. So... you showed us she was right? Or... is there something in the news crawler we should have read?

Economy got better despite Obama, not because of him.

I thought it was a very Presidential speech. I don't agree with the fucking guy on much of anything, and I'm happy to see him exiting stage left, but he's always been able to talk a good game.

What I find most incredible about the last 16 years is how the presidency has swayed from so far right to left to right again. If you have a strong base, it can withstand this top heavy swaying without falling over, but every time it swings it erodes the base a little.

Let's not forget about the last 8 years drive to socialism and an additional 10 trillion in debt.

Fuck you, LS, and your myopic views...

What I find most incredible is how many times oblameo called us a Democracy.

I guess if you say it enough times minorities will start thinking they can eventually run everything.

well then lets go back in history to find a president that realizes and says we're a republic and re-start from there then.

Abraham Lincoln called it a Republic.

“I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.”

--U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864 (letter to Col. William F. Elkins)

We use that term in the Pledge of Allegiance.

I think, to be exact, we are defined as a "Democratic Republic" because our representatives vote on our behalf.

It's all just splitting hairs until people start bitching about 'the majority vote' and who 'should' have won the national election.

Try federal republic,
did you learn US history from CNN?
I learn from many sources. Wikipedia, history books written by foreign authors, documentaries, etc. I see Wikipedia says "Federal Republic" so there ya go!

So where are we?

Both C. Dolan and BusaVeloce have admitted that the economy 'got better' during BO's tenure.

OK we're in agreement there.

Of course, if the economy got worse, they'd be claiming it was because of BO

Ah the old game of convenient truths.

You guys are boring me.

The deficit has nearly doubled under the Kenyan, that is a pretty important metric.
Oh big fucking deal

Add up the market cap of the top 50 DJ & NASDAQ listed companies. Covered.

Add up the overseas cash hordes of Apple, Google, Microsoft alone and you're into the 100 of billions.

There is so much corporate cash stashed away that governments are considering negative interest rates to induce the corps to release and invest it.

Debt? It's covered.

There are differing claims of the total assets of the US economy.

I'm seeing anywhere from $127 trillion to $188 trillion.

If the US debt is $20 trillion, then the debt to asset ratio (at the low end estivate) is a mere 16%

OMG the SKY IS FALLING

Fuck off

Big what?

If you mean a big fat nothing, yeah Ok.

It's just a big fat drive by validation of a feeling. Meaningless.
I know you want to get into an argument on the fact and figures but when the rules are changed mid game... it makes it hard to compare apples to oranges...

please tell me that we didn't change how we calculate the employment rate under Obama... we can start there...

Buh bye nigger
Anyone who thinks that monkey did the country any good is fucked in the head
I at least gave the man a chance to show what he had for the country. I'm not bitterly disappointed by his presidency like I was with the Shrub, but I'm wondering what the consequences of his nuclear agreement with Iran will be.

I guess I got what I wanted this time even though I didn't vote for him; an old white man back in the White House.

The economy is better. No one can dispute that.

I wonder if Joe the Plumber was ever able to pay off his $1200 debt to the IRS?

I won't tell you because I don't care. Employment #'s don't affect me directly.

To your point, employment is an arbitrary definition. The US dollar, interest rates, inflation, the DJ, NASDAQ, etc. are not and they affect me directly.

I ask you sons of bitches again, who here is worse off than they were 8 years ago?
