"Certain vehicle exhaust violations no longer correctable (AB 1824, Committee on Budget): A
fine will become mandatory, not correctable, when loud motor vehicles and motorcycles are cited.
Previously, a driver or motorcyclist who was cited for modified or excessively loud exhaust or
muffler systems could correct the violation to avoid a fine. "

They want to get cars infront of referees so they can get all the violations on the cars and bikes, The loud exhaust is just an easy way for them to pull them over. Its at the discretion of the cop, No decibel meter needed.

I have 2 customers who got popped last weekend. One in Beverly Hills in a car and one in Calabassas on a bike.

With the gas being 2 dollars a gallon more than the rest of the country and the new governor starting his shit from day one I think its about time for me to bow out of this shit hole of a state.

All my motorcycles have stock exhausts. Well, I do have TT pipes on my old Bonneville rat bike, but that hasn't run in years.

I do have an American Thunder cat back on my hemi Chrysler 300C, though. That part of me is still sixteen.:red:

Wait a minute...stopping the car for a loud exhaust is left to the officer's opinion and/or imagination (no db meter involved), yet once the car is stopped, the officer HAS to write a ticket under the new law?

If I was an officer and I was precluded from writing a fix-it slip or a warning, I wouldn't stop too many vehicles....

Whoever wrote that new law is an idiot.

I've been informed, more than once, by the pig issuing me a ticket, " If you have a credit card you can pay the fine right now."
The police equipment package has included a credit card processing slot in the dash for more than a decade. :screama:
Yep, the 21st century is different!

Would you go back to Canada if you leave California?

Tinny, in Montana they follow you to an atm if you don't have cash on you.

Here the 'loud exhaust' fine is 2000 baht, but most cops will give you an instant discount (usually charging 200 baht) to let you go on your merry way- no paperwork involved.:smile2:

One of my Dad's golfing buddies was notorious for never having any cash on him, for betting on holes. Finally one weekend, they screwed one of those old school, carbon copy, slide-it-back-and-forth credit card imprinters on the dashboard of his golf cart to fuck with him.

Working on some posers Harley today, it had an EXUP type butterfly in the aftermarket mufflers so you could be a loud ass pile of rolling shit with the flip of a button.

Porsche Cayennes had those cutouts, touted as a performance enhancement.
The glances from onlookers elicited "guy oughtta take that Explorer to Midas" thoughts.

My Focus has some valves in the exhaust system that seem to make it pop and fart when you whale on it. If it's parked outside below freezing, I sometimes get a message that the switchable driving mode is unavailable. After it runs for a bit and thaws them out, they work again.

My Dad put cutouts in the family car back in '62 or '63. Got busted when my grandfather took it to a garage to have tires put on it, and the mechanic asked Grampy if he raced it.

In Florida we don't even have vehicle inspections.Unless its Holy Fuck loud, cops don't care about exhaust noise. Not many curvy roads(but plenty of back roads)decent weather, acceptable bugs and beaches to die for.We are accepting new residents if you are conservative to help offset all the northern libtards moving down from states with socialistic governments and taxes out the ass.

My Z06 has factory exhaust valves... would I need to carry a spec sheet with me to prove they are factory installed? This law can't possibly last. It's obviously ripe for maleficence.
