Curbs?

Some interstellar 'airtime' going on during F3 practice (or qualifying, can't remember). Driver walked away...

My understanding is everybody hated the so-called sausage 'kerbs' and after that shunt, they've been done away with

Decent race today with more glimmers that there's a new sheriff in town

A sort of controversial speed bump was installed to encourage drivers to stay on the track or racing line

They're called sausage kerbs

little over the top maybe?
It doesn't seem possible to get that kind of lift, but I have to think it's a testament of the aeros

When down force is suddenly lost, those cars have crazy lift...if they put one of those 'kerbs' on a straight and a F1 car hit it at full tilt, I imagine it would either disintegrate or go sub-orbital

Could've been bad for the corner workers if you look at the second clip

All sorts of evidence of planners not doing their homework in this one

I would think the safety officials for F1 would have reviewed a track well before any events are scheduled

yeah but they figured it was safe to keep the drivers on the racing line rather than cheat, go wide and be able to square off the turn and get an "unfair advantage"

Safety first and all that, and I understand keeping drivers on the line, but the sausage that launched him is on the exit side of the corner. I see no logical reason why they would have put one there.

Wait for it...
Uhhh, look again above...
Well done CZ! I was looking for a repost of the pic, but the quote feature cuts off and you have to "expand" it (which is one of the only things I don't like about the new board software).

But at least I posted a fresh version of the pic, and I even highlighted to ad! So there's that :fu: LS and MC!
