Seems State farm hates KTM more then Mr Lucky... just got the bill for the year. $800 more then my haybusa ever where.. and just over $500 more then my V max.. I guess people crash the shit out of these things to make the insurance premiums so high.

It's strange how they will lump my house, truck, car, umbrella policy, and business policy but won't lump the scooter and the motorcycle in for a bundled discount. They won't even discount the second bike on just the motorcycle policies.

If you think NY property tax is high.. what I pay in insurance with a clean record would shock you.. just another reason for the exit plan.

Whipit1k is about a decade ahead of you! He swore he was going to flip a big-ole-giant-bird at New York as he was leaving.....he didn't, he was too busy exiting to even flip the bird....get the hell outta there!

No insurance is required,, on any,,,,,,,,,,,,,, motorcycle... :yahoo:
Yeah, Florida where you can roast to death on your bike while riding the same old boring, straight, featureless roads surrounded by the most intensive concentration of retards and blue hair cage drivers in the world.

Yup- that should be the state motto.

Of course, minus the 'blue hairs', it would work here as well...:wink2:

State Farm was always cheap AF with my various motorcycle insurances...

...even after like three or four totals.
Wasn't till I accidentally let my Insurance lapse and they had to start a new policy, that my rates went way up.

Hmmm, I paid $330/yr for full coverage when I bought it through State Farm.
Now I pay $215/yr for full coverage when I lumped it in with our other vehicles through Erie.

Shop around or you might have to move out of the NY money vacuum.

Horseshit 'all year round' or you must live where there are no traffic lights so that you and your bike don't melt down in that oppressive sun while waiting for green. The only thing 'twisty' near you is the line up for the cialiss and lipitor refills. I wouldn't bank a sport bike into a curve in that state for fear of the front washing out running over a colostomy bag thrown out of a Mercury Grand Marquis by some blue hair...

I've ridden about 60% of Florida during a time I lived there and it was the most miserable riding I've ever experienced, often breaking my cardinal rule of never riding without full cow. It just wasn't possible in that heat.

Also, the rest of the North American landmass has something you don't...we call it 'elevation changes' and as sport riders cherish these things.

Something that you, living in a state that boasts Disney's Space Mountain as the third highest elevation in the state of Florida, wouldn't understand.

It's a NY thing .. I think the only worst place for high premiums is NJ..

Z I'm starting to look there as my old drag racing partner/tune just picked up a place ocala. While not my liking to be that far from the ocean you do get a lot for your cash there

Rob add a grand to that number for NYC top tier insurance.. I do intend to OVER insure everything I own so I'm sure i could save a few hundred by lowering the coverages. But in this Jew lawyer town you better be insured.

Tennessee and North Carolina have the best roads in the country.......hundreds of miles of well maintained mountain twisties. Tennessee has no state income tax but I think sales tax is somewhere around 9.5%.

Visited Ivan in Congers N.Y on the way back from Maine. Traffic was a fucking nightmare, like nothing I had ever experienced. What a disaster. Ivan told me he could not wait to get out of there and he now lives in North Carolina.

I watch the news out of New York as it continues to evolve into a socialist dictatorship.

everyone I know upstate is even more miserable now than they were 14 yrs ago when I left.. living upstate, you can vote for your entire life and never once be on the winning side of anything in New York. As the rest of the country (aside from california) looks at new york in disbelief, we just need to remember that this is what happens whan the democrats have a stranglehold on everything....what a shithole, what a nightmare.

Tennessee is HIGH on my list .. NC has some odd tax laws that have me weary.. the roads are in the top three in the country as far as ridding motorcycles go.. the no ocean thing bothers me.. but I can pass that up for the right designed salt water pool..

I am done living a city life style. 2 to 5 acres.. to HOAs and GREAT town hall and specifically town building office. As no matter what I buy I want to do want I want when I want.

Like Whipit1k says I vote every year but the liberals have this state and that will not change in my life time.. everything in the last 20 years has gone down.. sure you make 150k++++ here but your mortgage and taxes are insane money. Traffic, tolls, insurance, and now a charge to drive through Manhattan has brought living here to a must leave situation.

Biggest issue with Florida is bigger homes. They seem to love 3 bedrooms ... 4 if you convert the garage.. 5 bedrooms.. which is my preference and why I like old victorians as there is much you can do with them. And always have room for family and friends to visit

"Florida sinkholes abound, but the latest has taken a life and officials have called it “seriously unstable.”

An unstable 3-foot sinkhole that swallowed a Florida man Friday, now presumed dead, when a chasm appeared under his bedroom is so unusual, officials have ordered neighbors to evacuate their homes..."

No idea what your price range is, but I can tell you that there is a little slice of NC mountains...IN SC! complete with all of south carolina's low taxes and laid back attitude. The little corner of the state north of greenville, west of I-26, east of the GA line....it is awesome. and it is south carolina. fantastic riding in there and a hop skip and jump from deals gap, asheville, convenient to atlanta....the little bit of SC mountains....thats the spot

Great spots, but NC and SC are all but flipped blue now thanks to the cities, even the newly elected "diverse" sheriff's of the major counties have declared themselves sanctuary counties and will no longer cooperate with ICE, I came for what I thought was the deep south, but there aint no more deep south, not here anyway.

My place has been on the market almost 3 years now, came close a few times but couldnt finalize sale. Hopefully this is my year. After this I'm going about as far rural and remote as you can go, I'll buy land and build 2 steel prefab buildings, one house and one shop. About 30 minutes from basic supplies like gas and grocery etc, and at least an hour from any larger towns.

what state/region are you talking when you say rural/remote? cause you can get some unreal deals in west virginia, which happens to be a freaking beautiful place. I have seen land in the hundreds per acre, not thousands. The winters are pretty gnarly in a lot of the state though
.. I have been trying to buy some land close to my existing house....3500 per acre for nothing special is the standard asking price. There are good deals in south carolina too....i dont see shit in NC though

I dig West Virginia. Open side carry friendly ... and excellent land house deals to be had there. Medical and money seem to be the only set backs for that state..

NC is harder to find deals there.. specially in the nicer areas..

I like SC I think that is the happy point weather wise. Just dont know the nicer areas without doing some driving there

Like You are afraid of a little weather... Come up to Maine and see how life should be...
We have Constitutional open carry & concealed w/o a permit, cheap insurance rates, salt water, lake water, mountains and almost zero traffic in the winter months... and roads perfectly suited for a machine such as Yours.:idea::idea::yahoo:

...and the only buses You will see are school or tour...
zero public transportation.

You have a place to stay and a built in tour guide in Camden ... any time Paul!

I have a different outlook on that, I'd much rather go looking up at the trees than looking up at the lights.

whipit1K my only problem with WV is the elevation, it's cool to look at but if it's too steep to ride a quad on I cant use it, I like hills, but once it gets past a certain a certain angle where it's no longer traversable you lose me. I do love the northeast corner of SC though.
