...I saw some awsome Hatsan rifles with all the power and features I wanted but they out weigh the M1A...

...if the 6lb Skyhawk produced 1100 fps from it's 20" barrel I would have accepted the extra mass to get the looks and cool features but the TalonP actually produced slightly more than the Skyhawk or the Marauder even though it has a 12" barrel...that queered it...

...set up like a tactical carbine the TalonP should be just right.......if it works just right...

Did you go with the 25 or 22 cal.? What did you get for a scope? I wish they would give the option of sights on the gun.
...the CenterPoint scope broke right after I got it mounted on the TalonP…

...and I mean broke, as in the elevation turret broke off...

...I put this Bushnell Elite 4200 4x16 on it instead...it doesn't have tacticool reticle or nuthin'....but it's a good scope...

...I did run out of elevation @ 27 yards though...I had to order special mount that provides 24 MOA of elevation and a riser from BKL...

...more $$$ and unwanted mass....the mounts are for spring guns and much more heavy duty than needed...

...I do hope the CP scope on tinhead's Daystate holds up....

...I just had to post this thing again...I took mind afield and it carries really nice...it is a most like a normal rifle to shoot...

...I kind of wish it had a magazine but it seems to be up to spec power wise and very accurate...you could likely kill anything you could kill with a .22...

...it has no baffles and is not suppressed but it is not as loud as a .22...the shroud takes some of the bark out...

...it has a low profile in a way, as long as no one gets a good look up close...

...this impressive FX is only 7.5 lbs so it isn't a pig but it is not any more powerful than the tiny TalonP...and cost $2000....

I have the Benjamin Marauder in .22 and .25, also have the Gauntlet in .177.

The .22 Marauder is my favorite and is an absolute tack driver. It has taken many an iguana as I do my part to control South Florida's burgeoning population of the critter.

Everyone starts out with a hand pump including me but believe me the Yong Heng compressor is a godsend. I mostly bench shoot and just fill my guns directly from the compressor.

Once you have the compressor you will find you go through pellets superfast. Pyramyd Air has the deal where you buy three tins of pellets and get the 4th one free.

The Gauntlet is a nice gun at its price point. The Marauder costs about about $200 more and you can definitely see the difference in quality. The plastic on the Gauntlet is kind of chintzy.
The Marauder has an awesome two-stage adjustable trigger. I have mine adjusted for super light first stage coming to a stop, and just a very light pull on the second stage. It is far and away the better trigger than on the Gauntlet.
I like the shape of the stock on the Marauder better. It has a flat bottom which works better for shooting off a bag than the rounded Gauntlet stock.
On accuracy I have to give the nod to The Marauder as well. Although the Gauntlet is no slouch.
The bolt on Marauder is much easier to cycle than the Gauntlet.
You should give the Marauder another chance. It's a great gun you just happened to get a bad one. IMG_20180723_161501.jpg

...there is a lot to like aboot the rifle...if mind had held air I probably would have been satisfied with it...

...it even has sling studs, something the TalonP sorely lacks...

...what I didn't like was the sheer size of the Marauder, and the barrel was flexy...

...the the TalonP is extramly compac rifles seem much more solid, although the "stocks" are sort cobbled-up devices...

...I do think I might regret not buing a repeater and if that proves to be the case, the Marauder may well get another look...

Hapo you might like Sam Woods outdoor YouTube channel. He's a Michigan redneck who hunts, traps, bow fishes and is a bad man with a pellet rifle. His go to rifle is a Marauder 25.
Last year he did an iguana hunting trip in Puerto Rico. The farmers loved him coming in and trying to make a dent in the population. He's an entertaining watch.

...the thing aboot the Marauder is the TalonP is shorter than the Marauder's barrel and it shoots harder...and the Marauder handles like a bass guitar in comparison...

...with an easily installed 24" barrel like the one I just acquired the TalonP will develop velocities 200fps faster than a Marauder...

...I am not opposed to single shots per se but these single shot PCP's can be dicey to load...mostly it's trying to handle tiny pellets...

...I am far from enamored with the AirForce rifles but the power/mass/cost coefficient has captured my $$$ here...

...as a stalking hunter it seems better suited to my needs than a nicer gun...

...as far as being a single shot that is more shots than I had an opportunity to take in seven miles of stalking yesderday...

...saw two flags, but no squirrels or rabbits...the only squirrels or rabbits that seem to be out are urban residents...

...I just spent several years carrying a fine .22 cal Daystate Firefly PCP rifle in the Main woods in settled areas so it's not like I be a total n00b...

...it is a beautiful but flamboyant thing that is twice as long as the TalonP….it looks nice, but really catches the eye...

...it is also quite valuable...I gave it to tinhead because he really liked it...

...what I like aboot the AirForce rifles is the simple and straight forward design that results in low mass n' shit...

...I don't much like the floppy loading gate/chamber thing/bolt...it doesn't seem all that secure...it is easy to operate...

...I haven't figgered it or observed it yet but methinks PBR on grey squirrels will be aboot 60 yards...

...that is well past the distance I generally see squirrels, never mind shoot squirrels...

The portable pump looks nice but you cannot use it on your bigger scba tank which you said you have.

...that's what made me pass...it can only be run for 15 min at a time w/o voiding warrantee...

...the Yong Heng pump would seem to out preform it...that pump can run for 30 min...

...the $1400 pump is attractive but still a bit wimpy...I have a few tanks at this point...tinhead has two....

For the price of the Yong Zheng, I would just use it as a throw away. I don’t know if your tanks are rated for 4500psi, but if they are, you will only be using the compressor from 3000-4500 psi and not the full tank. Seems quite a few have long term with this and is rebuildable.

Just use the Yong Heng to top off to 3500 psi. Since you have your own fill station no need to stress the compressor to 4500 psi.

...no, I just have some 3000lb scuba tanks...I didn't grok how useful 4500 lb tanks could be to fill 3000lb guns...(doh!)

...I like the TalonP even better now that it is an Escape...I installed the 24" barrel and lost the compact aspect but gained power and apparently accuracy...

1552438718420.png

...I also gained respect for the design and quality of the AirForce rifle despite some shabby attention to details like sending all the parts...

...at close range the point of impact did not change after installing a different barrel...I had just sighted it in with the same projectiles in the 12" tube...

1552438640549.png

...I turned up the power to aboot 75% and was still getting round one hole groups at the same point of impact @ shot # 15, even with the small 290 cc tank...

I don’t like the looks of the Texans. I prefer xp-Airguns or big bore air rifles .
...this gun seriously grew on me...it is ok at getting jumped on by dogs in the car and falling into snowbanks with...

...the quality and performance continue to impress and distract from the obvious shortcomings of the design...

...it shoulders very well especially considering it has an air tank for a cheek rest...it pulls it off due to the lack of any signifigent recoil...

...at close range yes...

...I am looking hard at this too...it shoots as hard or harder than the TalonP but is more like an actual pistol...

...it is built on a Crossman grip but everything else is Quackenbush...
