Good job. I respect any dog adopter.

My dog hates cats too but they were barn cats and she knew not to fuck with them.

He already tangled with my buddy's cat yesterday...chased the cat all over his house...havoc!
No sustained damage to either fighters.

Day three and I've yet to hear him bark. Maybe the neighbors will start liking me again.

He's a bit arthritic...may have to start him on something...glucosimine?

They flew him in to give him to you?
That's awesome!
Hey, why does that bag look totally photoshopped into this picture (the bag on the bottom-right, not you).

I've heard good things about CBD oil/hemp doggy treats for older dogs.
Supposedly it helps some of them feel less pain.
And takes a small amount of the edge off of edgy dogs.

It was no miracle cure for my high-strung dog.
Maybe a 3% overall improvement at the most.
But she likes treats and so I give her a hemp treat when I have guests over.

Fuck!!!!!!

Soon after I started this thread Cooper the dog found the raccoon that lives under my guest house...somehow he got under there and cornered the 'coon under a joist.

20 mins. of balls-out barking and coon growling...and I couldn't get to him or get him out.

I had to Saw-zall the ceiling of the garage under the guest house to get to him...of course the pissed-off 'coon was first to the hole
and was 6 inches from my face...I jabbed him with the running sawzall blade to hold him off.

Finally the dog backed up enough so I could grab him & squeeze him out thru a gap in the floor joist.
He was a bit bloodied up...the 'coon nailed him once in his lip.

I got him three days ago and he's already tangled with a cat and a 'coon.
Little fucker has more life in him than I thought.

Welcome to Jack ownership! Mine's 14 and is still high strung and neurotic, even with arthritis setting in her broken pelvis from racing a car!

Deaf as a doornail and going blind. Pic is one of her rare quiet times.

I just blocked up where I think he got under with some bricks.

Now I gotta repair the ceiling in the garage. Luckily I guessed right and sawed the hole in the right section of the joists...

Coulda easily turned into a game of upside down whack-a-mole.

Shit...I need a nap after all that excitement.

I've had jacks...nothing surprises me about them anymore.

Problem is getting them out of spaces they can squeeze into...and there's usually a pissed off varmint in there too...

The little fucker is sitting here next to me like nothing happened...

Good job on the new dawg.

I had a little poodle mix that went into the crawl space under an old house I was living in, and killed a possum.
They must have fought under there for 10 minutes before he trotted out all proud of himself.

There was no way in hell I was going under that old house to dig it out, and besides, I didn't know where it was under there. So, after a few days it started to stink, flies got in the house and landed on the floor above where the possum had died. So I got the saw out and cut a hole in the floor and pulled out a dead bloated stinking possum!

The Poot is going on 14, is mostly deaf, and totally blind- she will still happily beat the shit out of the cat if he's dumb enough to get too close, and she knocked the neighbor's chihuahua on his ass just yesterday when he tried to get too friendly while we were walking.

As they say, 'It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.' That's independent of age as well, it seems.

9lbs of kick-ass during the 30 minutes per day she's awake:

Yeah...the rescue group has some deal where the dog is transported for free by pilots.
The pilot gets his flight hours and a tax deduction.

I got to pay for the adoption fee and a healthy donation to the breed specific rescue organization.

Day 6 and we're starting to figure each other out.
He keeps his eye on me 24/7...probably will take a few more weeks to build up the trust.

But he has a solid confidence level that is helping things along.
Typical jack...knows all the cute tricks but is stubborn about doing them.

I may have to re-align his political beliefs...
