A more direct hit happened behind my house years ago.
The truck driver went to the hospital.
The truck went to the scrap yard.
Then the train drove away.

Years ago there was a guy on foot trying to beat a train so he could get across the tracks to buy beer before the Casey's closed in my home town. He just barely got whacked by the ladder on the locomotive. He did not win.

Family story:

My great grand father was hit by a steam locomotive in the 40s... he was a butcher and drove his meat delivery car/ truck shitfaced 99% of time...

At a railroad crossing up in his little village up north, he never saw or heard the train and got hit..the train dragged the car a few hundred feet before stopping.. when they got him out first thing he said was " did i hurt somebody?" ..he wasn' t that bad and could walk..

The mangled delivery truck stayed there atleast 20 years.. before it was removed..
