I believe this is about a woman who drove her car into the pond , drowned and remained there for 22 years with nobody knowing it happened or that she was still in the pond.

The force said that, during the initial investigation into his disappearance, there was "no evidence of that occurring" until recently, when a shift in the water made the car visible.

sure it did. and what about the tire tracks?

Mr Moldt, a quiet man who did not socialise much, did not appear intoxicated and left alone in his vehicle, it added.

"He also was not a frequent drinker but did have several drinks at the bar," the report said.

Mr Moldt called his girlfriend at about 21:30, telling her he would be home soon, but was never seen or heard from again.

So, how did this happen? Theories?

What's the mystery? He drove his car into a body of water, at night, and died. It's unusual it wasn't found sooner, but it doesn't look like a body of water that's used much for recreation. People die on their way home from a bar every day.

A woman here in Maine died the same way last weekend, though her car was found the next day.

Fertilizer run off from all those lovely green lawns. Causes all kinds of problems to bodies of fresh water. They passed a law here a few years ago that you are not supposed to use the stuff from May or something until around September.
The only fertilizer my lawn gets is from byrds and animals crapping on it.

Fuck that’s a good sized pond. Didn’t even notice the car until I read the article you linked.
That can't be the car... look at the size in relation to everything else... the road, the pool, etc. Unless the edge of the pond drops to about 30 feet deep in no time.

Edit: Nevermind. Read the article. That is the car. It isn't scaled right though... put that car on the road. It'd be a 4 lane road with a turning lane. You could fit 6-8 of those cars in the pool. Was he driving a Smart car? (Not too smart if so).

Well, a similar thing happened here when a womans car went off the road and into the ocean, when they pulled her out of the water she was covered with dungeness crabs.

So, they put her back in and pulled her again the next day.

They would dig big ass hole near overpasses in South Dakota. The hole would fill up with water and make a nice swimming hole. Every now and then someone would drown in one. By the tyme they found them and fished them out, all their dangly bits had bee nibbled on my crawdads and turtles.
