With a history of killing 40-75 million of their own people (Mao), you think they give a shit about spraying them with Lysol?
You can go on LiveLeak and watch videos all day long of little Asian kids getting run over in the streets and people just walk around their mangled little bodies.
Life is cheap over there.

The first grant was awarded to Moderna, Inc., which has partnered with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop a vaccine for the Wuhan strain of coronavirus.1 Some researchers believe that an experimental vaccine previously designed to combat severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), which was never licensed, as well as vaccine platforms using messenger RNA (mRNA) technology, which has not yet been approved by the FDA for vaccine production, are likely to shorten the time needed to fast track a 2019-nCoV vaccine to market.2

two recent clinical reports revealed less than optimal vaccine effectiveness.. In both trials, immunogenicity was lower in humans than was expected based on animal models, a phenomenon also observed with DNA-based vaccines, and side effects experienced by participants were not trivial.8

Doctors Avoid Hand Washing Despite Evidence It is Best Way to Reduce Infections

Despite this, studies9 10 11 12 13 have documented the reluctance of physicians, more than other health care providers, to wash their hands while caring for patients, and physician adherence to hand hygiene remains low in most hospitals.14

Why don’t physicians wash their hands?

While there are technical explanations, human factors such as social norms, perceived risk, role models, perceived knowledge, and motivation, play a role.15 One study discovered that self-protection, i.e. physicians engage in hand washing to protect themselves from acquiring infections rather than to ensure patient safety, is more important for physician compliance, and that some physicians believe there is a lack of evidence that hand washing is effective in preventing cross-infection.16

Concerns are mounting about how long the novel coronavirus may survive on surfaces -- so much so that China's central bank has taken measures to deep clean and destroy its cash, which changes hands multiple times a day, in an effort to contain the virus.

These human coronaviruses, such as SARS and MERS, have been found to persist on inanimate surfaces -- including metal, glass or plastic surfaces -- for as long as nine days if that surface had not been disinfected

"Based on the current available data, I would primarily rely on the data from SARS coronavirus, which is the closest relative to the novel coronavirus -- with 80% sequence similarity -- among the coronaviruses tested. For SARS coronavirus, the range of persistence on surfaces was less than five minutes to nine days,"

With fears of the virus spreading further, Chinese and residents of nearby countries and territories have begun hoarding supplies of everything from masks and other personal protective gear to instant noodles, cooking oil and toilet paper.

In Hong Kong, local media reported that police had arrested two men and were seeking three others who allegedly stole a load of 60 packs of toilet paper at knifepoint early Monday morning. Supplies of the commodity have become extremely scarce, with often only low-quality imports still available.

At Vancouver's Happy Times Travel agency in Chinatown, new business has dried up to almost nothing since the arrival of coronavirus.

A Chinese woman I know who'd been visiting her mother in China just got back into Thailand yesterday (she lives here)- no idea how she made it out, but I'll try to get the first-hand story re: what's going on there.

WHO panic control in full swing...

Preliminary estimates suggest the median incubation period is 5-6 days, and that the Infection Fatality Ratio – the percentage of all infections, both diagnosed and undiagnosed, that result in death – ranges from 0.3- to 1-percent.

Raise your hand if you believe those heavily disclaimed numbers..

Coronavirus travel bans may be of limited use

“travel restrictions alone are projected to have only a modest effect on the progression of the outbreak,”

Previous influenza pandemics, such as H1N1, showed the same minimal impact from travel restrictions.

Coronavirus is more fatal in men than women, major study suggests

  • Chinese researchers analyzed 72,314 patient records, making it the largest study on the outbreak to date.
  • Elderly people and those with preexisting health conditions were most at risk of contracting a fatal case of COVID-19, researchers noted.

Case fatality rate increased with age, with 14.8% of cases in people over age 80 resulting in death. Patients ages 70 to 79 had an 8% fatality rate, while those 60 to 69 had a fatality rate of 3.6%.

So they guy who passed out and was dragged to the hospital yesterday at the new joint I'm employed at, has two strains of flu! We'' probably bar the doors when he tries to show up next week.
Will more people die from the flu or coronavirus this year?

Today the stock markets took a whiplash swing from an initial surge to the floor suddenly falling out

Nobody is sure as to why, there are some theories and explanations with corona leading the pack

Something's not right

The market is not rational. Never has been. Nothing about the valuations and performance makes any sense. Not that I care, I'm accruing value all the same.
The markets are more rational then ever, the lions share of trading is algorithmic these days.

Something triggered today's meltdown, and I don't think anybody knows...but if I had to guess, it was something somewhere in China

U.S. Marines and Navy Prepare to Execute Pandemic Plan

Feb. 1, 2020 an executive order was issued by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), including the Joint Chiefs of Staff, directing the U.S. Northern Command to implement the DoD’s Global Campaign Plan for Pandemic and Infectious Diseases.2 On Feb. 12, 2020, orders were sent to the U.S. Marine Corps3 and Navy4 directing “geographic combatant commanders to execute their pandemic plans in response to the NCOV outbreak.”

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, on Feb. 12 Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told media during a conference call “we can and should be prepared for this new virus to gain a foothold in the U.S.”11

The report also warns that AI could become ‘extremely harmful and potentially unstoppable.’
This is just silly. Every country has the capability to shut off their backbones and turn off power. Even google doesnt have self sufficient tech centers guarded by deadly lasers run by AI.

The risk of another large asteroid strike or a viral pandemic with the transmissibility of flu and the lethality of HIV is all thats required. neither of which the dinosaurs or us can prevent.

“vaccine against misinformation.”
meaning it will be 10% effective and last for a few months like their worthless flu vaccine?

Can pets at home spread the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV)?
At present, there is no evidence that companion animals/pets such as dogs or cats can be infected with the new coronavirus. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands with soap and water after contact with pets. This protects you against various common bacteria such as E.coli and Salmonella that can pass between pets and humans.

Well I guess someone in the WHO forgot to tell the chinks that...

What has the public reaction been?
Analysts say it is hard to recall an event in recent years that has triggered as much online grief, rage and mistrust against the Chinese government.
News of Dr Li's death became the top trending topic on Chinese social media, garnering an estimated 1.5bn views.
His death has also brought demands for action, with "Wuhan government owes Dr Li Wenliang an apology" and "We want freedom of speech" among the hashtags trending.

His death was not another wasted life

A photo circulating on Twitter reportedly sourced from messaging platform WeChat showed a message in Chinese saying "Farewell Li Wenliang" written in the snow on a riverbank.

Many have taken to posting under the hashtag

"Can you manage, do you understand?" - a reference to the letter Dr Li was told to sign when he was accused of disturbing "social order".
