saw a tip jar at the auto parts store. It was full of crap from peoples pockets, paper clips, pens, wing nuts etc, no cash or coins for sure. I thought it was a joke then I noticed one at every register. If I had some lug nuts or something I suppose I would have given them.

as far as the temporary inflation surcharge, I would (write) deduct that from the tip and let the house know thats whats to expect. (I'd probably just give the cash to the server on the side)
