When I used to race, the above area was packed with competitors. Upper paved section would be jammed packed and the overflow would be in the grass.Bikes on track and a brat down the hatch. Have to eat cheese now it's a rule here.

I prolly raced there close to 20 tymes, most were rain free come race tyme. One tyme it was raining so bad, everyones boots were filled with water! No, I'm not kidding. Couldn't believe they'd hold a race in those conditions. I ran off into the kitty litter at turn eight. Started to lock up the front wheel and decided fuck it, heading into the sand. Kept it up and paddled my way out. Still finished in the top 10.Has there ever been a rain free race weekend at The Road?
Where did everybody tie up their horses? When I used to race, the above area was packed with competitors. Upper paved section would be jammed packed and the overflow would be in the grass.
I'm almost 100% sure that Randy balancing that tyre. He worked at the junkyard years ago, still lives near me and I do some cylinder boring for him. He does the Dunlop race tyre thing in our area.View attachment 38996

Every machine manned and working, all day.
It is indeed Randy from Melbourne. We yakked a bit, not many buying tires during the Supersport race.I'm almost 100% sure that Randy balancing that tyre. He worked at the junkyard years ago, still lives near me and I do some cylinder boring for him. He does the Dunlop race tyre thing in our area.
Just go up and ask, do you live in Melbourne?
So now Randy is famous? I'm a real prick at work, just axe him.Keep 'em coming lads. Good stuff here. Randy surprises like not at all![]()
He seemed further removed from the junkyard than you. It was your status as an influencer that has Randy trending on social media now.So now Randy is famous? I'm a real prick at work, just axe him.
When I was a kid in Michigan I worked at an old gas station in Lansing that didn't sell gas anymore. Just had a two bay garage and the owner was a really good mechanic. I was mostly his helper and did the dumb-kid service work while he did the bigger jobs. Darryl was about as nutty as you. He was actually good to me, but the way he treated customers was absolutely hilarious to the point of being embarrassing at times. If you were a regular, loyal customer, you were fine. If you were some yahoo who happened to see the garage and rolled up wanting something fixed, he'd literally run you off of the property. No help. No sorry. Just get the fuck out of here. I really felt bad for some people he ran off. If he found out a loyal customer had gotten their car fixed somewhere else and then brought it to him later for something, he'd just tell them to come pick up their car and not come back. The guy was hardcore. The good part was that he fixed most of the local cops personal cars so I'd get out of most any tickets I got around town, which was a lot.So now Randy is famous? I remember those. "The Motor Company" was behind some, if not all, of them.Been there a few times when they'd have a parade of Harley's cruise around the track on race day. I'm sure that lubed 'er up good.
There are a set on the Z1B out in my garage. Finally got a chance to set down and watch the SBK races from RA on the DVR.
Watching the track map portion of the video, they showed a wide shot from the drone coming out of turn 14. There on the end of a corner worker station was a small billboard ad for Lester Mag Wheels.
They were hot shit back in '76 + '77....
