I bought a die grinder with a plastic body back around 1976, still works. It was not advertised as "Heavy Duty".
Today's "heavy duty" is yesterdays "light weight" for everything but people.

no more power though than say the regular 4 or 6" bladed cordless ones?

thats where ive suffered in the past with my craftsman 18v one. if the blade isnt brand fucking new...itll choke up if i dont take 47 minutes to cut thru some 3/4 ply a mm at a time.
No more power, about the same as a corded saw although I've never owned a corded 4" or 6" circular saw. With a 5 ah battery it cuts quite a lot of plywood. Had the same blade on it (Dewalt) for at least 200-300' worth of cutting and it still zips through.

I've got the older Dewalt 4 1/2" grinder but it sucks batteries down like a Ford V10 pulling a trailer up a mountain. I do plan to buy the newer brushless one soon.
Now this bad mofo is worth it's weight in gold.........45677

I want to buy a 2" and a 6" pneumatic palm sander but don't really know much about them.

if they have discovered a way to keep grease from actually leaking out of it after sitting for months, id buy it just for that.

havent checked battery life on it as im only using it for bodywork at the moment vs trying to power thru some angle iron or similar....i got a set of knockoff 6ah batteries for a birthday present (the review site said they were nearly as good as the factory ones, at like 1/5 the price)....it certainly does the job I need it to...and without having to pay 199!

CZ, it's getting to the point that cordless battery tools are making pneumatic obsolete.
Also, never seen a 2" sander. I do have a corded Dewalt 1/4 sheet palm sander that works great. They come in cordless also.

I don't actually have a V10, but I like watching TFL truck guys on Youtube hauling trailers up a mountain and getting 2.4mpg.

What happened to Milwaukee?

It wasn't that long ago my brother invested in a huge milwaukee lineup, brushless 20v I think. He's never had to replace a tool.

He even bought the ice auger attachment for the drill and said it's unbelievable. He said he thinks he could drill 100 holes before needing to charge a battery.

Said he immediately got rid of his old gas powered auger.

Did something happen in the last 5 years for their tools to go to shit?

Mean while my buddy's kid who is a new tradesman is burning out dewalt tools left and right. Home models, professional models, don't hold up.

He's always posting snapchats of smoke pouring out of them 'killed another one'.

But he has too many other tools and batteries to want to start over.

I still have some old Milwaukee corded tools, 7 1/4", 8 1/4" worm drive saws, hole shooter drills, etc........built like tanks, weight as much as a tank and all Made in USA.
Now everything they make is from CHINA.
So for me, "no sale," as in ...............EVER.

Functionally, Dewalt is as good or better than anything Milwaukee makes although Milwaukee has a few more specialty tools out there and Dewalt
has a large percentage at least "assembled or made in USA."

I don't know how much validity there is to this, but they claim both brands are made in several countries, including US and China.

So if both have some tools made in China and some in the us, how do you choose?

Limited stock, not available everywhere.
Three out of the four closest locations to me have one.
half price.

These things are freakin awesome. I was using one earlier today while working on the bronco (because it's tall and I'm not).
I use it to stand on while I work in the engine bay. And as a place to set my tools down.

I'm hoping for a good compressor deal. I want good quality, but I don't need a biggun. A 10-20 gallon tank would suffice.

Reading that compressor thread just makes my head spin.

S.C.
Not much power but if all you wanna do is fill up some tires, then this will do the job at just 70dB which is a full 20dB quieter than the Harbor Freight and just about any other smaller compressor out there for $100-$500.
You're paying extra for it to not burst your eardrums. The price otherwise is a rip-off when you think about how powerful it's not.

That one already sold out.

I just bought this one. Same thing as before, same seller, different model #. Only $25 more than the cheapo Chinese ones on Amazon.

Model SDGS1S25 – 25,000 rpm, Full 1 Horse Power Motor

Seems to go for like $180-$250 elsewhere but is only $50. And the seller is right here in my town.

My first real bad ass die grinder!
I've wanted one of these for 20 years, ever since I dreamed of porting my own E7TE 302 cylinder heads.

Yeah MC, I guess there are much better options for porting.
I may never ever do any porting but I wanted to on more than one occasion.
I even started to port some E7TE's but quickly gave up when my dremel didn't have enough oomph.
That was back when I was a kid.

This may not be on special but I got mad at my socket organization the other day and am going to give this a try.
Just got one so far, to make sure I like it.

It's not tools but you truck guys might be interested.
Lift kits 20% off and you also get $200 rebate for purchases over $1250.

I wish I could take advantage!
The "Bronco Overboard" project is definitely ready for a lift kit but I already spent my taco money on a couple tools, a bunch of paint, tie rods/ball joints, etc. etc. etc.

I should have saved a few $ for cheap cardboard to put under the bronco.

Sneak peak progress pix (as of today) for the faithful.
I may never recover from this. :fu:

This reseller had some nice deals on other kits also.
