To save this thread I will include a drag bike that Craig Caulk of Craig Caulk Racing Heads built himself (he hand built every bit, even the carbon fiber body)...with a Hyabusa front end.

they reduce deflection of the rocker studs. It's actually pretty worthless at lower rpms but I always thought it made a difference when I ran them. Can even keep them from just snapping off etc, by tying them all together. On a solid lifter cam I thought they also just held their adjustment for longer.

Mostly to make you buy a new set of valve covers when the old ones dont fucking fit over the girdles! LOL
when I saw his valve covers they looked like tall ones so I though what the hell.
